Does culture matter?

In the last fifty years, the drive towards a global economy has meant that people, all over the world have become more homogeneous ( =of the same kind; alike) Globalisation has had a huge impact on local cultures and ways of life, inlfuencing what people wear, eat, do and think.

Some people argue that cultural differences are becoming less important as globalisation has meant that people around the world are increasingly alike.
