Smart Cities

'Smart' is an adjective that can mean 'clever'. Traditionally, we have used 'smart' to refer to people, for example; a smart student. Increasingly, we are using 'smart' to refer to things that use technology and data to behave in an intelligent way (such as smart phones, smart cars).


Now we have smart cities. These are cities that use data from the internet and technology to try and combat some of the problems of urban living. Watch the video about smart cities and identify the three cities that are mentioned.
