Belt and Road Initiative in Myanmar

In today's world of mass media and global social media platforms, like Instagram and Facebook, it has become very difficult to identify what is 'real' news and what is 'fake' news. Or perhaps more accurately, what is 'fact' and what is 'opinion'.

Maybe it's best to consider all information now as 'opinion'. The pictures and videos we see and the words that go with them are not 'fact' but are the views and ideas presented by one person, or one organisation, or one country.

Below is a video, produced by China about their Belt and Road project in Myanmar. So, this video is promoting and endorsing the project because the video is made by the Chinese government. It is their opinion about the project.

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI, or B&R) is a global development strategy adopted by the Chinese government in 2013 involving infrastructure development and investments in 152 countries and international organizations. "Belt" refers to the overland routes for road and rail transportation, called "the Silk Road Economic Belt"; whereas "road" refers to the sea routes.

The Chinese government calls the initiative "a bid to enhance regional connectivity and embrace a brighter future". Some other governments see it as a push for Chinese dominance in global affairs with a China-centered trading network.
