Map: Stoke town

When writing an IELTS Part 1 report about changes or differences between to maps or plans, it is important to pay attention to the dates of the maps or plans, as this will affect the verb tense you need to use.


For example, the maps below compare 1986 with the Present (now). Because the changes relate to now, you need to use the present perfect tense, usually in the passive form, for example:

'the primary school has been expanded'
