Scanning speed results #2: Antibiotics
Well, it's clear the Nay Nwe Thant is very fast at finding English words and phrases. Once again she tops the chart with her scanning speed. Congratulations, Nay Nwe Thant.
If you are thinking of doing the IELTS test then you must be quick at scanning. Not as quick as Nay Nwe Thant, but you should be faster than average.
The average speed for this second scanning test was 8.52 minutes.
While scanning may not seem important, as it is not one of the four key English skills, it is a very important IELTS examination skill and one your MUST develop if you want to score well in the reading test. The quicker you can find keywords, then the more time you have to carefully read the important sentences in the reading text, find the answers and complete all the questions.
Congratulations to the top scanners, both from UAGO in Naypyitaw:
Nay Nwe Thant: Another score of 9/10, which is fine when you manage to find those keywords in a very fast 3.13 minutes. Well done.
Wutyi Aung: A perfect 10/10 in 4.38 minutes. Great scanning speed and accuracy.
And commendations to the other top five scanners, Thae Oo, Nann Hla Khaing and San Mya.
Another test will be posted soon. Keep practising to improve your skill and your speed. Previous scanning tests can be found by clicking on 'scanning' below right.
