Myanmar has a booming literary scene, with a number of contemporary writers becoming popular, not just nationally but also internationally. Also, increasingly a number of Myanmar literary works have been made into films, which has brought Myanmar stories to a wider audience

Myanmar translators also perform a valuable service, translating famous international literature into the local language so they can be enjoyed by the wider Myanamr population.
